Officially March is National Puppy Month. As far as we are concerned every month should be puppy month!
If you are thinking about adding a nonhuman to your family, adopting a rescue can be extremely fulfilling. We humans think that we are doing the picking when we go to a rescue site or shelter, but anyone who has adopted know it is the other way around!
A great online site is PetFinder.com. Many of your neighborhood shelters post what animals they have waiting for a forever home. You can narrow your search by zip code, what kind of nonhuman you are looking for, breed, age etc. We know several people who have adopted with the help of this wonderful site. There lives have been changed forever. The site is updated daily and is a great and safe site to work with.
It also has forums, specific care information and tips on volunteering or fostering animals.
A big thank you to our cousin Denise for dropping off much-needed blankets that were her Mom’s. Our Aunt Fran. Her first birthday in the spirit world is this month. She was an amazing lady and along with her eight human children had two nonhuman children, Goliath and Rocky. She was an animal activist before her time, and we miss her dearly.
Always remember to go on The Animal Rescue Site daily. One click a day buys food for shelter animals.
